| There’s a new kind of tourism in India. It’s destination: the Dharavi squatter settlement outside Mumbai. It’s been called the largest slum in Asia. British Chris Way , started the tourist business more than a year ago. He’s been accused of voyeurism and profiteering off the poor, but Way says educating people on how the poor live in India is beneficial. And if the business ever turns a profit, he’ll give 80% of it to residents of the slum. Miranda Kennedy reports. |
