Kidnapping China's Boys

In China, the country's one-child policy has left many families desperate for boys. Male heirs are traditionally important, and the demand for sons has led to widespread kidnapping of young boys. On April 5, theNew York Timesran a front-page story about the abduction of boys in rural China.

The story was originally broken a few years ago by British journalist Michael Sheridan. We spoke with him shortly after his reporting assignment.
