| Each night, thousands of young girls and women take to the streets of Ethiopia’s capitol to sell themselves. Many of the prostitutes -- some as young as ten -- came to Addis Ababa from impoverished rural areas looking for work. An organization called Chad-Et caters to sex workers to get them off the streets and out of the sex trade. It offers them food, a bath, and counseling. They become so-called “peer educators” who work to convince other prostitutes to also come off the streets. Richard Lough reports. |
