Life for the elderly has not improved much in Romania even though communism ended there in 1989. World Vision Report Producer Christina Darden was in the town square of Brasov, Romania where she encountered an elderly woman begging at the entrance to a cathedral. The woman collapsed in Christina’s arms and began sobbing. Both spoke languages neither one could understand. But the simple act of listening is sometimes all a person needs in the arms of another. Christina tells us about it in this Reporter’s Notebook.
