Gilberto Gil is one of Brazil's most famous musicians. He's been singing, and winning awards, for decades. Until last year, he was also Brazil's Minister of Culture, a post he held for five years.
Gil recently produced his first studio album in a decade, and the first since he left his day job. The album was nominated for a Grammy.
Here to talk about Gil is our guide to global music, Tendai Maphosa, who speaks with us from his listening post in Harare, Zimbabwe. |
