| Some survivors of a decade-long civil war in Sierra Leone are so traumatized by what happened they can’t even talk about it. Canadian photographer Maurice Henri came up with a novel idea to help the country heal. He tells host Peggy Wehmeyer he held workshops teaching average men and women the basics of photography. Then he told them to photograph things they love. Slowly, survivors of the civil war began to open up and discuss what they had been through. |
