Madrassahs, Islamic religious schools, have received a great deal of negative attention since 9/11, when some were found to be linked to training centers for Al Queda.
But for more than a thousand years, madrassahs have served a vital role in providing schooling and even a home for the poor. Reporter Will Everett recently visited a madrassah in Pakistan, not far from the Afghan border, and brought back this story of a boy named Abdul. |
