Bicycles can make a big difference in the developing world. A few years ago,Bicyclingmagazine joined forces with a major drug company to launch a program called "Biketown Africa." The plan was to put bikes in the hands of HIV and AIDS workers in rural Botswana. The bikes would make the workers twice as effective as traveling by foot.

But a year later, a reporter discovered most of the bikes were idle -- broken and unrepaired. Host Peggy Wehmeyer talks with reporter Mark Jenkins about what he found and what he did to get all 200 bikes back in operation.
