| Carmen Colle used to be a social worker in France. A challenge from a friend to put her words into action was the spark she needed to launch World Tricot Designs. Its employees were all women from the poor neighborhoods she used to visit as a social worker. Her company was extraordinarily successful -- making lace, crochet, and custom knitwear for some of the biggest fashion houses in Paris. Then disaster struck. Anita Elash tells us about it. |
