| The author of the all-time best seller “The Purpose Driven Life” wants church members to get involved in fighting poverty and disease around the world. Rick Warren, Pastor of Saddleback Church in California, calls the church “the untapped giant” in the struggle to end poverty. In an interview with host Peggy Wehmeyer, Warren says, “My goal is to move the American church from selfish consumerism to unselfish contribution.” He says helping the poor is what being a Christian is all about. |
