| Conditions are deteriorating for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The crisis began after Hamas took over power in the Palestinian territories in March. Members of the international community cut off funds to the region because they consider Hamas a terrorist organization. This made life for the already impoverished Palestinians even more difficult. Then a few weeks ago militants claiming to be a part of Hamas captured an Israeli soldier. In an effort to get him back, Israel bombed Gaza. Reporter Irris Makler was recently in Gaza, and tells us more about what she saw there. |
