How long does one kit last?
One kit usually lasts around three to four months, depending on the grade the child is in. Many school sessions last at least six months. This is why many kits are needed; to supply new children with kits and sustain the children who have already benefitted from them.

    Why were these supplies chosen?
These supplies were chosen because they are the basic school supplies needed for children up to 6th grade. Our goal is to get children in school and do so at minimal costs to our contributors.

To what countries are the kits distributed?
The kits are distributed to 21 countries. Those countries are Kosovo, Armenia, Romania, Thailand, Albania, Niger, Georgia, Swaziland, Nicaragua, Honduras, Mozambique, Mauritania, Sri Lanka, El Salvador, Chile, Lebanon, Chad, Brazil, Columbia, Costa Rica, and Vietnam.

    How were these countries chosen?
All national offices worldwide receive a letter from World Vision, United States (WVUS) asking if any of their development sites in their country are in need of school supplies. These countries reply to WVUS who in turn processes the requests of those countries needing school supplies.

Can I give more than what is on the list?
We prefer all kits to be uniform, each having the same quantity and type of product requested on the checklist ONLY. This way each child will receive equally and no one will feel left out or unappreciated. Although the gesture is gracious, we want to make sure all kids receive the same items.

Can I inform people outside of my church and/or organization about the SchoolTools program?
Yes! SchoolTools is open to anyone willing to support the program. Please direct them to the "Get Started" page to get involved.

What about organizations that are not Christian based or associated with a home school organization? Can they contribute?
Our desire is to bring school supplies to children in need. Since the demand for school kits is greater than the supply, we appreciate support from non-Christian based groups or organizations not associated with home-schooling. Education should be given to everyone, regardless of their religious beliefs.

Can we assemble kits more than once?
Yes! There is no limit on how many kits your organization wants to put together. We accept kits year round. Since you are already in our database as a contributor, you do not have to re-register. If you cannot remember your group registration number please e-mail us at schooltools@worldvision.org and include the name, address and phone number of your organization.

How will I know if you received my kits?
Make sure to enclose your packing slip in each carton you send and write your group's registration number on the mailing label. This way we will be able to send you a follow-up letter telling how the kits are changing children's lives.

Can I choose where my kits are sent?
Yes. You may designate your kits to one specific country among the 21 countries on the list. Unfortunately we cannot have your shipment split and sent to more than one country. Simply write the country of your choice on your packing slip. Or you can send them with no specification and we will ship them to where they are most needed.
