Relating, Educating, and Communicating Hope to Northwest Children What is KidREACH?KidREACH builds long-term partnerships that promote relationships and opportunities for children. It pairs schools with churches or community groups, who then match struggling students with dedicated, trained adults and older youth, which provide emotional nourishment as well as academic help. KidREACH trains tutoring site administrators and volunteers, and provides technical support and educational programming as well as books, educational games, and other materials. Partner churches provide the space, volunteers, nutritional snacks, and supplies such as paper, pencils, and crayons. The children and their mentors provide the chemistry and effort that fosters success. KidREACH has been active in the Seattle area since 1991, and expanded to the South Puget Sound region in 1993. In the 2004-2005 academic year, 46 sites are offering at-risk children in 50 schools the care and nurture that builds relationships that can make a life-changing difference. | ||||||||||||||
