To help children affected by the tsunami, click here.

Within hours of the Dec. 26th Asia tsunami, World Vision began helping the most vulnerable, including children. In Aceh, Indonesia, officials report that 1,000 teachers are missing and 50 percent of schools have been destroyed. This leaves 140,000 elementary and 20,000 junior-high students with nowhere to study and nothing to read or write with.

The need is great to provide children with even basic supplies so they can return to school. World Vision is committing to rebuilding schools and communities and giving the children the support and school supplies they need.

You can help bring hope for children affected by the Asia tsunamis by creating SchoolTools Kits. They are simple to create, each kit contains:
  • One package (7 or 8 count) wooden pencils without designs
  • One package (10 or 12 count) ballpoint pens - blue or black ink
  • Two 6 x 9-inch steno notebooks
  • One pencil sharpener
  • One large pink eraser
  • One package (24 count only) regular-size crayons
  • One 12-inch ruler with metric measurements
  • A greeting card signed by YOU! (Click here to access a Greeting Card)
Because the damage was so severe and wide spread, we are also asking you to consider making an additional $50 gift to the World Vision Educational Fund to help children and communities - helping to provide things like new or repaired schools, furnished classrooms and an education for children in need.
