SchoolTools in Mozambique

In Mozambique, a young child says, "I have lost my school. Can you get me a new one? And a book and a pencil?"

Severe flooding in recent years has damaged much of Mozambique's infrastructure, destroying farms, homes, and schools. World Vision is working hard to help rebuild the lives of Mozambicans, constructing new roads and buildings. And with your help, the pleas of the child above are being answered.

SchoolTools kits have been distributed across Mozambique, giving many children the only opportunity they would have for a good education. In a nation where the majority of people are illiterate, possessing reading and writing skills is a huge advantage. The majority of Mozambicans are farmers who rely on the land for their livelihood. When the floods came, they mercilessly demolished these farmers’ source of income.

But there is hope for the children of these farmers. With a basic education, a child can gain technical or vocational skills and a job that will enable him of her to be less reliant on the unpredictable weather patterns of southern Africa.

The children of Mozambique thank you for giving them SchoolTools, and with these items, the hope for a better tomorrow
