[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”2\/3″ el_class=”vc_col-sm-pull-4″][vc_single_image image=”87806″ img_size=”medium” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]December 1, 2022 (New York) <\/strong>––World Vision is recognizing a major milestone in its efforts to empower women and girls living in poverty. In 2015, at the time the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals were established, World Vision committed to empowering 30 million women and girls to overcome barriers that keep them from productive and fulfilled lives by 2023.<\/p>\n
Today, the organization announced that it is on track to achieve this goal six months ahead of schedule, having already reached over 25 million women and girls through its Strong Women, Strong World Fund. To recognize this exciting achievement, , World Vision Strong Women Strong World ™ staff will be ringing the New York Stock Exchange Opening Bell.<\/p>\n
World Vision has been a leader in gender equality work for decades. It’s integrated into everything they do because when women and girls gain equal access and opportunity, children are better cared for, families are stronger, and communities are more prosperous.<\/p>\n
“We believe God wants to see all people able to live life to the fullest, and we know that when women and girls are able to reach their full potential, everyone wins,” said Edgar Sandoval, President and CEO of World Vision U.S.<\/p>\n
Since 2016, World Vision has helped women and girls overcome barriers by helping 11.5 million women and girls gain access to clean water close to their homes; 1.8 million benefitted from programs that challenge cultural norms; 800,000 have gained access to maternal health care and information; nearly 3 million gained access to financial services and income opportunities and nearly 8 million received emergency support services.<\/p>\n
As World Vision continues its work towards reaching 30 million women and girls by 2023, the 18th annual Strong Women Strong World event will take place on Friday, December 2^{nd<\/sup>. This year’s event will focus on “Seeing Her” amidst the Global Hunger Crisis.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]# # #<\/p>\n}
