We&rsquo;ve collected some tools to help you keep your kids safe online and make their online world a kinder place, because building a better world for children is what we do.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"pullquote pullquote--full\">Do to others as you would have them do to you.<cite class=\"attribution\">&mdash;Luke 6:31<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n<h2>5 random acts of kindness using technology<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Spread honey<\/strong>: &ldquo;<span id=\"en-NLT-16841\" class=\"text Prov-16-24\">Kind words are like honey &mdash;<\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"> <span class=\"text Prov-16-24\">sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.&rdquo; <span id=\"en-NLT-16841\" class=\"text Prov-16-24\">&mdash;<\/span>Proverbs 16:24 (NL<\/span><\/span>T) Write a public compliment on someone else&rsquo;s social media post, video, or blog. Let them know what you appreciate or admire about them.<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Prov-16-24\"><br>\n<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Share <em>good<\/em> news<\/strong>: Be intentional about sharing something inspiring this week, instead of letting social media be overrun with disasters in the news or the latest public controversy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Connect<\/strong>: Skype or FaceTime with a relative or friend that lives far away. Focus on listening well. Ask them how they&rsquo;re really doing and how you can pray for them.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Give a virtual hug<\/strong>: Show someone you are thinking of them. Send <a href=\"https:\/\/www.800florals.com\/virtual-flowers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">virtual flowers<\/a> or an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dayspring.com\/ecards\/category\/view\/category\/209\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ecard<\/a> with an encouraging message.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Change the world<\/strong>: No matter how old your kids are, they can spread generosity that changes the world &mdash; and themselves. <a href=\"https:\/\/mycause.worldvision.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Set up a fundraising page for kids less fortunate<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Need scientific reasons for your random acts of kindness? <a href=\"\/faith-news-stories\/5-things-happen-body-give\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Studies show that doing kind things for others actually makes us feel even better about ourselves<\/a> &ndash; it releases serotonin in your brain.<\/p>\n<h2>Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind?<\/h2>\n<p>Bullying and cyberbullying aren&rsquo;t fun topics to talk about with your kids. So what&rsquo;s one easy lesson you can teach them about how they interact with others? Have them ask themselves these three questions before they say something: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Help stop bullying at school, online, and in the community. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stopbullying.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services operates stopbullying.gov<\/a>, which provides information on what bullying is, who is at risk, and how you can prevent and respond to bullying.<\/li>\n<li>Being a parent is tough enough.
