Since gaining independence in 2011, South Sudan has experienced a complex humanitarian crisis, with children bearing the heaviest burden. Conflict, natural disasters, and poverty<\/a> have driven a hunger emergency, while a deadly cholera outbreak<\/a> has sickened over 80,000 people<\/a>. Families are facing rising food insecurity in parts of the Upper Nile state, and children are at greatest risk of malnutrition, disease, and displacement.<\/span><\/p>\n
