Millions of children face uncertainty as conflict disrupts their education, health, and sense of security. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; margin: 0in 0in 15.0pt 0in;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Across the Middle East, ongoing conflict and instability continue to drive humanitarian needs. In <a href=\"\/our-work\/country-profiles\/lebanon\">Lebanon<\/a>, renewed violence since early March 2026 has devastated communities in Beirut&rsquo;s southern suburbs, the Bekaa Valley, and South Lebanon. Right now, violence,&nbsp;<a href=\"\/christian-faith-news-stories\/what-does-bible-say-about-poverty\">poverty<\/a>, and failing services are stealing those basic rights from far too many children.<\/p>\n<p>Many families are struggling to find enough nutritious food, while damaged infrastructure and disrupted public services make it challenging to access healthcare, education, and clean water. In some areas of Lebanon, more than half of children under 2 face severe food poverty, and many children are eating just one meal, or none, each day.<\/p>\n<p>Education has also been severely disrupted. Schools that once provided stability have been damaged, closed, or converted into shelters for displaced people. In the West Bank, many schools operate only three days a week, while healthcare facilities face shortages of staff and medical supplies.<\/p>\n<p>The loss of essential needs such as food, safety, and stability places significant psychological strain on children, compounding the effects of ongoing conflict.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The conflict is impacting children caught in this cycle of violence, hunger, and displacement,&rdquo; says <a href=\"\/about-us\/leadership-team\/margaret-schuler\" data-outlook-id=\"4534f9fd-c961-4056-8900-f297291937a0\"><u>Margaret Schuler<\/u><\/a>, senior vice president of International Programs for World Vision.&nbsp;&ldquo;Behind each statistic is a story &mdash; stories of children and the families who want to keep them safe &mdash; enduring unimaginable fear, trauma, and loss.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px;\"><a href=\"#top\">BACK TO QUESTIONS<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"world\">What is World Vision doing to help impacted families in the Middle East?<\/h2>\n<p>World Vision is responding across Lebanon and the West Bank by providing emergency relief assistance while helping children and families recover and rebuild stronger communities for the future.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lebanon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As violence has escalated since early March 2026, families have been <a href=\"\/refugees-news-stories\/forced-to-flee-top-countries-refugees-coming-from\" data-outlook-id=\"b228e52f-e65e-4d43-b10d-ef15d0d7a84e\"><u>forced to flee<\/u><\/a>&nbsp;multiple times, leaving many people in overcrowded shelters or without safe refuge. Despite ongoing insecurity and restricted humanitarian access, World Vision continues to adapt its response to reach children and families with lifesaving support.<\/p>\n<p>Working through 22 trusted local partners, World Vision is delivering emergency food assistance, <a href=\"\/our-work\/clean-water\">clean water<\/a>, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), child protection services, healthcare, education, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), and more in some of the country&rsquo;s hardest-hit communities.<\/p>\n<p>Since the 2026 crisis escalated, World Vision has:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span role=\"presentation\">Reached more than 589,000 people, including over 217,000 children&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span role=\"presentation\">Delivered more than 10.2 million meals&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span role=\"presentation\">Distributed 61,000 hygiene kits and 24,700 blankets&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span role=\"presentation\">Rehabilitated 934 schools, homes, and health facilities<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span role=\"presentation\">Provided more than 6,000 psychosocial support sessions, delivered both online for displaced families and in person in collective shelters to help children and caregivers cope with trauma and loss.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The violence has taken a devastating toll. Two children enrolled in World Vision Lebanon&rsquo;s sponsorship program were killed while their families were fleeing airstrikes, a heartbreaking reminder that behind every statistic is a child whose life has been forever changed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>West Bank<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the West Bank, World Vision continues to support families facing <a href=\"\/refugees-news-stories\/what-is-a-refugee-facts\" data-outlook-id=\"056cf725-1ac5-4ba8-af59-b8649f8fc67a\"><u>displacement<\/u><\/a>, movement restrictions, and disruptions to essential services.<\/p>\n<p>Working alongside local partners, World Vision has reached more than 1 million people, including 430,000 children, through <a href=\"\/our-work\/disaster-relief\" data-outlook-id=\"3563b35f-1ad1-4c94-a05d-21a480442146\"><u>emergency assistance<\/u><\/a>, child protection, education, healthcare, and mental health programs.<\/p>\n<p>Our response activities include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span role=\"presentation\">Cash and voucher assistance for 10,700 people&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\n<div role=\"presentation\"><a href=\"\/our-work\/child-protection\" data-outlook-id=\"3fd3a205-00b6-4276-a313-38044e851631\"><u>Safe play<\/u><\/a><u>&nbsp;<\/u>and recreation opportunities for 35,000 children<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li><span role=\"presentation\">Social and emotional learning programs reaching 28,000 children&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span role=\"presentation\">Protection initiatives that strengthen community resilience while helping children access <\/span><span role=\"presentation\"><a href=\"\/our-work\/education\" data-outlook-id=\"3f36cf66-b634-4f82-abb9-1098f0520797\"><u>education<\/u><\/a><\/span><span role=\"presentation\">&nbsp;and essential services.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px;\"><a href=\"#top\">BACK TO QUESTIONS<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"help\">How can I help the children and families affected by the Middle East crisis?<\/h2>\n<p>Now more than ever, children in Lebanon and across the Middle East need our help.
