Video: First snowfall for Syrian refugees in Lebanon

The first snowfall of the year is fun when you have snow gear and a warm place to stay and go in for hot chocolate. But for children and families living in tent settlements, the cold weather and snow bring misery.

Without warm clothing and boots, it’s hard to stay warm enough. The start of the new year brought freezing temperatures and the first snowfall of winter to Syrian refugees living in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley.

In this video, you’ll see what life is like in the tent settlement for refugee children. Many lack proper winter clothes and shoes. Slushy snow also brings cold, muddy puddles of snow melt.
