When it comes to global economic woes, Mexico's economy has been dealt a double whammy. Fewer dollars are being sent back home by immigrants whose work has dried up here in the U.S. And when the global markets fell in September, panicky international investors rushed to pull money out of the Mexican market -- despite the fact that the Mexican economy had been strong and stable for years.

Dan Grech covered this story for the public radio show Marketplace, and he speaks with host Peggy Wehmeyer from Miami.
