Kenya Big Dream

Empower Kenyan girls and boys with brighter futures

The Kenya Big Dream project aims to empower communities by eliminating the root causes of child marriage and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). Alternative Rites of Passage (ARP) is a culture-impacting community training to recognize the coming of age for girls and for boys and provides a safe alternative to FGM.

The Alternative Rites of Passage Ceremony:

  • Educates girls and boys to celebrate and respect the West Pokot, Kenya, culture without affirming harmful traditions like FGM.
  • Empowers girls to value their God-given identity.
  • Empowers boys to have a positive perception of girls who have not undergone FGM
  • Equips students with months of life-skills education training, to expand future opportunities.
  • Engages families so parents understand the importance of keeping their daughters in school and delaying marriage.

Your gift to the Kenya Big Dream project will send more girls and boys in Kenya to take part in Alternative Rites of Passage (ARP) ceremonies, helping them know their worth and see their potential in God’s eyes.

$600 can send five children through the ARP ceremony
$3,000 can send 25 children through the ARP ceremony
$12,000 can send 100 children through the ARP ceremony

Give now to empower Kenyan girls and boys
