Matthew 25 Launch Video
The Matthew 25 Challenge invites families to take intentional steps to remember the needs of others and reflect on Jesus’s teachings in Matthew 25. It’s not a test or competition, but a way to grow together in compassion, prayer, and service. Please adapt the challenges as necessary to fit your family’s needs.

M25 Day 1: The Story of Grace
Scripture:
“...I was hungry and you gave me something to eat...” - Jesus (Matthew 25:35 NIV)
Challenge – Simple Meal Day:
Today, for one of your meals eat a very simple meal together — like just rice, bread, or a small snack — and talk about how some families around the world don’t always have enough to eat. Pray together for those families.
Reflection Question:
- How did you feel after eating a simple meal today?
- How can we share our food with others or help make sure other people have food?

M25 Day 2: The Story of Esther
Scripture:
“...I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink...” - Jesus (Matthew 25:35 NIV)
Challenge – Drink only water today: no juice, milk, or soda!:
Make it fun: set a "water jar" goal and decorate your water bottles. Talk about how clean water is a precious gift for many children around the world.
Reflection Question:
- Did you miss having other beverages today?
- How would our lives be different if it wasn’t as easy to get clean water?

M25 Day 3: The Story of Armando
Scripture:
“...I was a stranger, and you invited me in...” - Jesus (Matthew 25:35 NIV)
Challenge – Sleepout Adventure (Indoor Campout):
Create a simple “floor campout” with sleeping bags, blankets, or pillows. Make it cozy and playful. Before bed, talk about kids and families who don't have a bed to sleep in and say a short prayer for them.
Reflection Question:
- How would you feel if you couldn’t sleep in your own bed again?
- People who leave their countries because they are fleeing a conflict or fleeing a natural disaster like famine are called “refugees.” Refugees often have to live in a camp or in crowded apartments in cities. Some of them are able to try to make a new home in another country that is very different from their own. How can we be kind to people who have had to leave their homes?

M25 Day 4: The Story of Marie
Scripture:
“...I needed clothes and you clothed me...” - Jesus (Matthew 25:36 NIV)
Challenge – One Piece of Your Outfit to Repeat Day:
Choose one piece of clothing – socks, shoes, etc. – and wear it again today! Talk about gratitude and how many children only have a few clothes to wear. Maybe even find one item to donate to a clothing drive together.
Reflection Question:
- Did you feel uncomfortable wearing the same clothes two days in a row?
- In some places around the world people don’t have enough money to buy important things, and they need a way to earn it. What are the different ways that people can earn money?

M25 Day 5: The Story of Mony
Scripture:
“...I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me...” - Jesus (Matthew 25:36 NIV)
Challenge – Kindness Message Day:
Help your child think of someone they can encourage (a friend, teacher, neighbor, or family member). Write a note, draw a picture, send a message, or make a quick call to share kindness and God's love.
Reflection Question:
- How might you reach out to others in the future with an encouraging word or practical help?
- How have others reached out to you when you were sick or struggling?

M25 Day 6: The Story of Debbie
Scripture:
“...whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine you did for me...” - Jesus (Matthew 25:40 NIV)
Challenge – Family Prayer Walk:
Take a short walk together around your neighborhood, park, or even inside your house. Pray as you walk — thanking God for the people you pass or that come to mind and asking for blessings over your community.
Reflection Question:
- How did the week go? What was the most surprising thing you learned together?
- What does Jesus mean when He says, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me”?
