What would the additional money go toward?
We are facing new and growing hardships in the world today—including sharply rising costs. As your trusted partner, we have comprehensive measures in place to keep costs low, but the reality is that it costs more today to meet the needs in the communities we serve around the world. The additional money will go toward our sponsorship programming to ensure we can carry on the good work in your sponsored child’s community and continue to meet the needs of vulnerable children and families.
Does World Vision keep costs low?
We take financial stewardship seriously and work hard to keep our overhead low. In 2022, we used 89% of our total operating expenses for programs that benefit children, families, and communities in need. World Vision U.S. is proud to be a top-rated charity, regularly reviewed and held accountable by independent third-party organizations including: Charity Navigator, Charity Watch, Better Business Bureau, Evangelical Counsel for Financial Accountability, and Guidestar.

If I am unable to increase my rate, does this impact my sponsored child?
Your support deeply matters for your sponsored child, and they will continue receiving the benefits of your sponsorship whether you increase your monthly giving or not. We’re so grateful for your continued care for your sponsored child and their community. Whether you increase your monthly donation or not, please know you are a valued partner, and your faithfulness and generosity is deeply appreciated.
If I decide to agree to the rate increase, then is there anything I need to do?
If you agree to the increase, there’s nothing more you need to do. The new amount will appear beginning in your June 2023 statement.
When does the $5 rate increase take effect if I don’t opt out?
The $5 increase will take effect beginning with your June 2023 monthly donation, unless we hear from you by May 25.
