November 4, 2018 (SEATTLE) — World Vision, a Christian humanitarian organization committed to partnering with children, families, and their communities to tackle poverty and injustice, is set to receive a $10,000 grant from the Joey Logano Foundation this weekend at the AAATexas 500 NASCAR Race Weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.

Founded in 2013 by the North Carolina-based NASCAR driver Joey Logano, the Joey Logano Foundation invests in organizations offering second chances to children and young adults during times of crisis and works to inspire others to live a life of generosity.

The $10,000 grant will go directly toward funding World Vision’s disaster response work in the United States, specifically targeting Hurricane Michael. World Vision has pre-positioned supplies in warehouses across the country to aid families in the immediate aftermath of a disaster. The organization has served nearly 300,000 people for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts and more than 75,000 people for Hurricane Maria relief efforts.

World Vision is currently responding to survivors impacted by Hurricanes Florence and Michael. In the first few hours following the storm, emergencies supplies including food, water, coolers, tarps, bedding, diapers, cleaning and hygiene supplies were trucked to some of the hardest hit areas.

“Following last year’s active hurricane season, we are seeing yet another year of back-to-back storms impacting the United States. This has made it challenging to keep supplies in stock. This donation will be vital for us to continue our relief efforts for those most in need,” said Reed Slattery, World Vison U.S. National Program Director. “We applaud the Joey Logano Foundation for their support and partnership.”

Since its inception in 2013, the Joey Logano Foundation has invested more than $2.4 million in various organizations across the country offering first and second chances to children and young adults during difficult times in their lives.
