SEATTLE (January 5, 2026) — As the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela continues, children remain the most vulnerable. Global Christian humanitarian organization, World Vision, continues delivering critical, lifesaving support.

World Vision has been actively responding in Venezuela and across the region since 2019. To date, the organization has reached more than 2 million people, working through local churches, trained volunteers, and partners to provide support in child protection, education, food security, health and clean water services.

Ongoing instability in the country places millions at greater risk of hunger, displacement, and uncertainty. Currently, some 5 million Venezuelan children face hunger and 3.9 million are out of school.

As families struggle to cope, many are forced to make impossible choices, whether to stay at home with few resources or undertake dangerous journeys for safety and stability. Across the region, neighboring countries are hosting millions of Venezuelan refugees and migrants, straining communities already under pressure.

“Children are bearing the cost of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Venezuela,” said Edgar Sandoval Sr., president and CEO of World Vision U.S. “Millions are facing hunger, missing school, and living with profound instability—realities no child should have to endure. I’m grateful to God for the local churches, volunteers, and partners who are responding every day to protect children and support families in Venezuela and across the region. In moments of uncertainty, safeguarding children is critical, and World Vision remains committed to assisting the children and families of Venezuela as we have done for the past six years.”

World Vision urges donors to join its efforts in addressing this regional crisis and safeguarding the future of children and families affected.
