World Vision statement in support of Home Education

Highlights

  • We believe that empowering and supporting families to care for their children’s needs, including their education, is an appropriate response to the pandemic.

June 15, 2020 (Seattle) World Vision has seen the impact of COVID-19 in the U.S. and around the world.  We believe that empowering and supporting families to care for their children’s needs, including their education, is an appropriate response to the pandemic.

Homeschooling in the United States has become a growing and diverse movement that meets the educational needs of children.  Decades of research support the finding that homeschooling works.  During the Coronavirus pandemic, policy makers and civil society should support, respect and affirm families and individuals who take on the responsibility of educating their children.

World Vision believes in the strength of families to serve their children.  We continue to seek ways to serve all populations and especially those who are most vulnerable to loss during this pandemic.
