Activity: Showing God’s love to those in need

Over the past week, you and your family have talked about the different ways people around the world wrestle with poverty. Child sponorship is a personal way to show God’s love to a child in need.

When you sponsor a child through World Vision, you’ll help that child and their community stand tall, free from poverty. You’ll help enable children to enjoy good health, education, spiritual nurture, and protection. You’ll support families and community leaders in building a healthy environment for kids to grow, thrive, and reach their God-given potential. You’ll even be able to start a personal relationship with your sponsored child by writing them letters and making them part of your family from afar.

As a family, consider sponsoring a child. Take some time to learn about different children who need sponsors and choose one together. Once you’ve chosen, close this last day of the week with prayer using the suggestions below.

Ways to pray

  • Pray that God would help your family remember the things you learned this week, and always look for new ways to serve those in need.
  • Pray for other people to hear Christ’s command to serve “the least of these brothers and sisters of mine” and to make a difference in their lives.
  • Pray for your new sponsored child, that God would use your gifts through World Vision to help him or her experience a fuller life and reach their dreams.
