What happens when a child chooses you as their sponsor? You empower a child, and their whole community, during the pandemic and beyond.

In 2019, Collins was among the first to choose his sponsor. He chose Joel. See his update below!

Here's how child sponsorship is helping kids right now.

Collins

"I am grateful for all World Vision has done. World Vision has also helped us because we get clean borehole water. I don’t know where we would be without the water. May God bless World Vision," says Collins, an outgoing 11-year-old who lives with his grandmother in Kenya.

Hector

Hector, 12, lives in a remote area of Honduras, where there is no internet or cell service. Visits from World Vision staff and volunteers provide a lifeline of information about coronavirus prevention and news. Hector tries to learn on his own and helps on his dad’s farm.

Last year, these kids were empowered to choose their sponsors. Now sponsorship programs in their communities are helping meet urgent needs, preventing the spread of COVID-19, and building resilience for the future.

Tania

Like many kids around the world, Tania’s school in Bangladesh is closed, so she studies at home. Families in her community are getting Hygiene Kits and help setting up hand-washing stations. Her parents will soon get cash support while they are out of work.

Junior

In 2019, Junior from Kenya chose Shanda from Chicago as his sponsor. Today, the 9-year-old is doing his best to stay safe and healthy with his family. They are grateful for the goat his family received through World Vision.
