Mission & Values

Our Christian humanitarian mission

World Vision is an international partnership of Christians whose mission is to follow our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in working with the poor and oppressed to promote human transformation, seek justice, and bear witness to the good news of the kingdom of God.

We are Christian

As a faith-based nonprofit, World Vision’s beliefs are founded on the Bible. We believe in one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In Jesus, the love and grace of God are lovingly made known to us!

We are committed to the poor

Jesus’ big heart for the vulnerable drives us. He shows us what it means to serve, love one another, challenge injustice, and to experience new life in Him. He gives us a holistic understanding of the gospel of the kingdom of God, fueling our response to suffering. We proudly work alongside children and families, equipping them to create lasting change in their communities.

We value people

All people are created in the image of our loving God, so we respect the infinite worth of every person!

We are stewards

Our resources are a sacred trust from God through donors on behalf of the most vulnerable, so we hold ourselves accountable through trusted third-party organizations. We’re an honest, open book with donors, communities, governments, the public, and each other.

We are partners

Unity in the body of Christ is so important, as we share this ministry with donors, churches, partners, and hardworking families. And as members of an international World Vision partnership that spans nearly 100 countries, we share goals and hold each other accountable. We also gladly work with other humanitarian organizations to help the most people possible.

We are responsive

We act quickly and take smart risks when life-threatening emergencies hit. We also respond thoughtfully to long-standing crises and injustices that call for sustainable, long-term solutions.
