A Chicago after-school program offers alternatives for kids
A partner’s smoke breaks gave Officer William Martinez an opportunity to play basketball with kids in vulnerable Chicago communities. That led him to opening an after-school program where he hopes to set kids on a more positive path for their futures. His police precinct partners with World Vision, which provides William with tools he can use to meet the needs of the children and their families.

A Pittsburgh woman’s servant heart supports Knit for Kids
Volunteer Dee Fuller volunteers once a week at World Vision’s warehouse near Pittsburgh. She helps maintain the database of Knit for Kids, but she also is a knitter who contributes her time and talents by creating sweaters, caps, and blankets to keep children around the world warm during winter weather.

Delivering hope: Hurricanes Helene and Milton disaster relief
Back-to-back hurricanes have devastated the Southeastern U.S. Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend on Sept. 26, 2024, followed by Hurricane Milton, a Category 3 storm, which struck near Siesta Key on Oct. 9. Communities across the Southeast experienced severe damage, and World Vision responded immediately with critical supplies. In partnership with local churches and organizations, we delivered essential items such as clean water, generators, and more.
