Sammie’s story: Making the world a better place

Sammie, a girl from New Jersey, learned at school that many people around the world lack enough food and access to clean water. She wanted to help, and her father found a way through World Vision’s Gift Catalog. With money she raised through a lemonade and cookie stand, she was able to purchase the gift of 10 goats to help equip families to overcome poverty.

One woman found joy in supporting World Vision’s work, but when her husband died unexpectedly, she found new meaning in giving a “widow’s offering.” As part of her grieving process, she raised funds to build a water source at a health clinic in Malawi through World Vision.
