This mother in Armenia has a great deal to be thankful for. Two of her children have received sponsors through World Vision, and she has received vocational training to start a business baking and selling cakes.

The family has gone through more than its share of hard times. The children’s father went to Russia to find work — but no one would pay him for his labor. Meanwhile, the children and their mother were left behind at a poorly insulated house during the frigid Armenian winter.

When World Vision came to their community, they received warm clothing and shoes to help them face the bone-chilling weather. World Vision also started programs to help ease the burdens of other families just like theirs throughout the village — giving kids a chance to have their childhood back.

Watch the video to see how sponsorship is giving families a reason to be thankful this winter — and year-round.

Two ways you can help

Sponsor a child in Armenia today. When you sponsor a boy or girl in need, you help provide life-giving basics to a child, family, and entire community. You also form the foundation for a special bond with a child who will know your name and feel God’s love and compassion through your generosity and commitment.

Make a one-time donation to help provide warm clothing to families in need. Thanks to generous donations from our partnering corporations, your gift will multiply in impact to help ship and distribute brand-new jackets, shoes, shirts, dresses, pants, and more to children and families in cold climates like Armenia.
